Commonly Asked Questions at the Interview
Most employers ask similar questions in an interview.
Therefore it helps to be prepared.
A good way to prepare it to consider the answers you will give to key questions
that you are likely to be asked before the interview. When
putting together your answers, remember to concentrate
on how your skills and experience make you the best
person for the job – think about how you can sell your
skills and any examples you can quote.
Some of the Common questions asked at interviews
include:
§
What do you consider to be your major strengths?
§
What do you consider to be your major weaknesses?
§
Why do you want to work for this company?
§
What are your short-term goals?
§
Where do you see yourself in five years?
§
What did you like most about your last job?
§
What did you like least about your last job?
§
How would your colleagues describe you or how would you
describe yourself?
§
How do you manage multiple tasks/projects? Please give
an example.
§
How do you deal with stress and/or deadlines? Please
give an example.
§
Do
you prefer to work independently or within a team
Another good tip is,
wherever possible, take along examples of your work.
You will then not only be able to quote examples but
will also be able to show proof for some of the work you
have done.
If you are invited to a second
interview you may gain brownie points if you
contact the interviewer and ask if they would be
interested in you bringing any particular examples of
your work to the interview.
